Michna-Nowak has featured in ‘Who’s Who - Women of the World’ for her contributions
to art
Born in England to Polish parents, her work has been influenced by Polish culture,
fairy tales, theatre, circus and war. There is a strong feeling of isolation in her
works, partly due to her parents being outsiders in exile.
Michna-Nowak’s works start as a mono-print, a basic idea created on a metal sheet
with oil based paints or inks. after a process of re-printing the print may be over-painted
with gouache or acrylic paints to create a more solid effect. In her own words Michna-Nowak’s
art is “dramatic, arresting, thought provoking and, above all, original”.
