Who runs Own Art?
Arts Council England runs the scheme through its trading company ArtCo Trading Ltd.
Hitachi Capital Consumer Finance provides the credit.
The Arts Council England has established the Own Art Scheme for the following reasons:
- to encourage new buyers and audiences for the visual arts
- to develop the visual arts economy by encouraging the increase of sales of artists’ work
- to support a breadth of practice from the traditional to the innovative, by artists at all stages of their careers.
How to own art
When you have found an item you would like to purchase we can process your application
on- line quickly and efficiently while you wait. This usually takes about ten minutes.
You need to be:
- Over 18 years old
- Resident in the UK
- In possession of a bank or building society account that can operate Direct Debit payments
Once the application has been approved, you will be able to sign the printed agreement and take your new piece of artwork home with you.
